How to insert your earthi cup?

1. Sterilize
Before your first use, boil your cup in a metal pot for 5-10 mins.

2. Wash your hands

3. Fold the cup
C- Fold Pinch the middle of the upper silicone ring with your index finger and thumb. Then, fold it in half.
Push-Down Hold With your index finger on the top rim of the cup, push the rim down into the center of the cup base to create a triangle.

4. Insert the cup
Take a comfortable position (sitting on a toilet, standing with one leg up, or squatting). Grip the folded cup firmly, gently separate the outer side of your vulva, and gently push the cup into your vagina horizontally with a folded side of the cup towards the back of your vagina. Continue to gently push the cup until the stem is even with the vaginal opening.Â
After insertion, release the fingers and let the cup unfold fully and adhere to the vaginal wall. The cup should sit a few inches below your cervix.
Pro Tip: you may lubricate a cup with warm water for easier insertion

5. Trim the stem
If you feel that the cup went into your vagina fully, but the stem is still too long, you can remove the cup from your vagina, and adjust the stem by trimming it a few millimeters. However, don’t make the stem shorter than 1/4 inch or 0.6 cm.

6. Rotate the cup
Once your earthi cup is in place, rotate it to activate the suction and create the seal. Do not use the stem for rotation, instead grip the base (rings above the stem) of the cup, and turn the cup one complete rotation in either direction.
How to remove your earthi cup?

1. Wash your hands

2. Get comfortable
Relax and take a comfortable position (sitting on a toilet, standing with one leg up, or squatting). Grab the stem with your index finger and thumb and start gently pulling it until you reach the base of the cup.Â
To release the suction, slightly pinch the base of the cup. Gently start pulling the cup down, moving it from side to side.
SAFETY TIP!ðŸ§
NEVER use any additional objects to help you remove your cup. They can injure the vaginal tissues as well as spill the blood from the cup. At all times while removing your cup, pull the stem slowly out to avoid hurting yourself. Once the cup is removed, keep it upright to prevent spilling.
WHAT IS THE CUP DOESN'T COME OUT?
Good news, your vagina is still safe and the cup will come out eventually. Perhaps your pelvic floor muscles become too stiff from carrying the cup inside. Now, try to relax your body and muscles, take a few deep breaths and remember that the cup cannot travel in your body farther than the length of your vagina. You can try pushing your pelvic muscles down just like you are trying to make yourself poop. This will help bring the cup down.Â
Important: If you are still unable to remove your earthi cup after 12 hours, contact your Healthcare Provider for assistance with removing your cup.
